Ekadashi Vratam

For starters, here is a very simple method which almost everyone can follow. one can add more complexity at later stage as per a person's own ability and devotion. Not hardlines needed for bodily rules.
1) Get up early in the morning. Preferably before Sunrise
2) Take a bath. Do not use soap having Animal fats, instead use a herbal soap containing natural oils. Otherwise do not use soap. Do not shave, cut nails, wash clothes on that day(Not a compulsion. But better if you do). Wear clean and simple clothes. Do not wear Leather belt and shoes if possible (we should not use leather items in our daily life)
3) Worship Lord Vishnu in any manner by japam (chanting his name), Katha (reading his stories), Homam (fire ritual) or any other manner. If not able to do any thing or do not want to do any these things best thing is to think about Lord Vishnu. One can also read Vishnu Sahastranama.
4) Take a sankalpam that I am keeping this fast just because of your love and I have no other demand or intention from you
5) After that do your routine work. Keep your bodily work at minimum. it means do not engage in extra activities. There is not refrain from doing your regular work or going to your job. Just try to keep your mind free. Avoid watching TV or any other thing which you feel disturbs or diverts your mind.
6) You can drink water or eat fruits ad per your dedication or devotion. After Sunset, after worshiping Lord Vishnu, take a meal. Most preferably a bland diet. Without spices and chillies etc. Do not take fried food. eat only light food.
7) From next morning carry on with your normal routine
Please note that aim of Ekadashi Vratam is to think about God. So whole day try to think about God only instead of any other material things. If we keep fast but keep thinking about polar things, then there is no benefit of vratam and it is just a formality.
If you have any doubt or want to start ekadashi vrat or any other vrat feel free to ask questions and if you have any suggestion feel free to say.
